Now Available for Von Willebrand Disease

GOOD NEWS — prophylaxis is now approved for the treatment of severe symptoms in von Willebrand disease (VWD)1. Routine prophylactic factor replacement therapy has long been the standard of care in hemophilia, and this has provided a strong rationale for its use with VWD.2

The current American Society of Hematology (ASH), International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), and World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) guidelines on the management of VWD now recommend long-term prophylaxis with a von Willebrand factor (VWF) concentrate in adults and children who are experiencing severe symptoms.1

Is prophylaxis right for you?

Factor My Way, the patient support program for those living with hemophilia A and VWD and those who help them, is here to assist you in answering that question. We have assembled a wealth of educational materials about how prophylactic care can be used to treat VWD. Take a look.
